Musician/Cancer Survivor Launches Music Site

By  |

It’s estimated that approximately every three minutes, a woman in the United States is given those four fateful words: “You have breast cancer.” However, for those who hear those fateful words, a new website, MusicForBreastCancer.com, looks to provide hope, inspiration, and empowerment – as well as (just as importantly) a reminder of the healing powers of art, music and creative expression in the recovery process.

“Approximately every 12 minutes, a woman dies of breast cancer,” comments musician, speaker, and celebrity cancer survivor Matthew Zachary, “numbers that are currently rising. Breast cancer is now the leading cancer found among women worldwide. And while the welcome use of screening mammography has increased the number of breast cancers found before they cause any symptoms. But some – many – are still not found early enough.”

One woman in eight either has or will develop breast cancer in her lifetime, but detected early, the five-year survival rate is 96 percent. Mammograms are among the best early detection methods for the disease, yet millions of women in the U.S. never have had one.

Now Zachary has launched MusicForBreastCancer.com as a new online resource for those who either currently face (or who have faced) this dreaded disease, and to help women find the links and support they need – as soon as possible. Best of all, MusicForBreastCancer.com provides a much-needed outlet for those seeking hope, comfort, inspiration and information.

Cancer is survivable. No one knows this better than Matthew Zachary, who is a bestselling recording artist and brain cancer survivor whose miraculous recovery and incredible musical gifts have encouraged and motivated thousands worldwide. His two hit albums of acoustic piano solos, inspired by his battle with cancer, offer listeners a beautiful mix of Jazz, Classical and New Age-inspired compositions. Now these albums will inspire others in a brand-new way, thanks to a new website offering “the official CD to celebrate breast cancer survivorship”: MusicForBreastCancer.com.

With lovely piano instrumentals reflecting the emotions of hope, courage and the journey to survival, Matthew’s bestselling first solo release Scribblings is a powerful and spiritually healing tribute to cancer patients and survivors alike.
