PRAY FOR THE SOUL OF BETTY to Host Key Club Bash

By  |

On Tuesday, June 28, 2005, PRAY FOR THE SOUL OF BETTY hits the Sunset Strip for a West Coast CD Release Party at the world famous Key Club. The band attracted international attention as a result of vocalist Constantine Maroulis’ sixth place finish in the 2005 season of America’s highest-rated reality TV talent competition, where his 3-month long stint exposed him to an average of 27.3 million viewers per week.

Not idle at home, bassist Taylor, C.R., guitarist Joao Joya, and drummer Hamboussi struck a distribution deal with KOCH Records, and on May 10, 2005, released Betty’s self-titled debut album off of their self-owned label, Baby Julius Productions. Pre-sales of the album on Amazon.com scaled as high as the #2 Top Seller, with the “clean” version hitting #8. The album also debuted on Billboard as the #2 Top Heatseeker, #7 Top Independent Album, and the #9 Top Internet Album.

PRAY FOR THE SOUL OF BETTY hosted an East Coast CD Release Party at home in NYC on the actual album release date last month, drawing in fans from across the country. “We always knew we wanted to do a west coast version of the party,” reports bassist Taylor, C.R., “so we jumped at the chance to come to L.A. and hang with all the amazing west coast Betty fans.” With Maroulis on the verge of a 3-month long summer tour with the show, this will likely be the only taste Betty fans will get until fall.

Maroulis is eager and honored for the opportunity to showcase Betty at the upcoming Key Club date. “I am very proud of PRAY FOR THE SOUL OF BETTY,” states Maroulis, “and can’t wait to party with the boys and the whole Betty family on the Sunset Strip.”

Doors open at 6:30pm. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster, the Key Club website at www.TheKeyClub.net or the Key Club Box Office at 310-274-5800.
