The Exies Join Motley Crue on “Carnival of Sins” Tour

By  |

Virgin Records band The Exies will join metal icons Motley Crue on tour for a coast-to-coast series of mid-summer dates. Since the release of their second album, “Head For the Door,” less than four months ago, the Exies have blasted through a series of adrenaline-drenched opening spots on the road with the A-list bands Velvet Revolver and Breaking Benjamin.

The lead single from the album, “Ugly,” is currently in the top 10 of the Active Rock and in the top 20 of the Alternative Rock charts. “Ugly” was also a recent pick in Billboard magazine’s Hit Predictor. Immediately following its release, the “Ugly” video clip was featured on MTV2 and F– USE, and the band made appearances on “The Late, Late Show” and the WB drama “The Mountain.”

At the release of the album, the Boston Globe noted The Exies’ “taut power and melodic kick…funneling riff-heavy ’70s guitar rock and fierce punk into its own hard-hitting sound,” adding that “Head for the Door” “bounds with energy.” Rolling Stone named the Exies one of the 10 bands to watch, and called their music “a feast of audacious rhythm guitars, supporting smart, insinuating hooks that can also smack you sideways.”

The tour will play in Southern California on July 26 at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre.
