Tori Amos to Tour this Summer with The Ditty Bops

By  |

The engaging and eclectic duo of Abby DeWald (guitar and vocals) and Amanda Barrett (vocals, mandolin and dulcimer), aka The Ditty Bops, will be the special musical guest of Tori Amos when the artist launches the North America leg of her current world tour this summer.

Opening for Amos, The Ditty Bops will perform material from their acclaimed debut album on Warner Bros. Records, including “Walk Or Ride,” “Wishful Thinking,” “Oh La La” and “Short Stacks.” “The Ditty Bops” album was produced by Mitchell Froom (Suzanne Vega, Crowded House, Elvis Costello and others), and received accolades from national, regional and local periodicals all over the U.S.

A pair of Los Angeles-based artists who cite such diverse musical influences as western swing, ragtime, early jazz and musical theater, The Ditty Bops have been compared to everyone from Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks to Joni Mitchell, and have been dubbed “sly contemporary foxes” with “old-time essences and modern edges.” “A veritable homage to the jazz, swing, and ragtime-era acts of yesteryear,” raved Interview, “the girls harmonize on fragile odes to love, danger and the good old days with the thrown-together intimacy of a carnival sideshow.”

Crisscrossing the country the past year performing live concerts everywhere and appearing on both “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” and the “Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” The Ditty Bops will again take their show on the road with Tori Amos’ “Original Sinsuality Tour” for the following appearances.
